The month of May saw Tir Conaill Harps kick of their 2022 Intermediate league campaign against Dunedin Connollys. Since the beginning of March the Harps have been hard at it in training to get themselves prepared for the start of the 2022 campaign. The Harps travelled to Stirling and Leed’s for friendly’s to gain some much needed match fitness ahead of the vital league games. Tir Conaill Harps impressed in both games and managed to win them comfortably. However Dunedin Connollys would pose a much greater threat, and this proved to be the case with the home side storming ahead within the first 15 minutes with a score of 1-08 to 0-00 to Connollys. Dunedin Connollys continued to push forward and pin Tir Conaill Harps back, with the Harps only managing to convert 1 point in the first half. The second half saw a much improved performance from Tir Conaill, which saw them bravely try and claw the scoreline back, but unfortunately they had left themselves too much to do after the first half and the game ended Dunedin Connollys 6-08 Tir Conaill Harps 1-07.

With the Edinburgh side having also come out on top in their game against Dalriada it meant that it would be a straight shootout between Dalriada and Tir Conaill Harps for the last remaining spot in the League final. In a game that is always closely contested, this one proved to be no different. Both teams where desperate to reach the final and gave it everything they had. They game ebbed and flowed but thankfully for the men in green and gold they came out on top with a single point in it. The game ended Tir Conaill Harps 0-11 Dalriada 1-07.

The victory now means that Tir Conaill Harps have booked their place in the 2022 league final where they will take on Dunedin Connollys. The final will take place on Sunday June the 12th at Clydebank Sport Hub.
