On a memorable evening at Christ the King Church Hall Tir Conaill Harps marked its 30th anniversary in grand style. The club brought together past and present members, supporters, and distinguished guests to commemorate three decades of Gaelic Football within the southside of Glasgow.

Former Chairperson Anton Gallagher took to the stage to recall the journey Tir Conaill Harps have been on, from humble beginnings to its current incarnation and the clubs standing as an important pillar of the community. Anton recounted some personal stories from his own time as a player in his younger days.


Current Chairperson Paul Toland then detailed the vision for the future, highlighting the club's commitment to growth, inclusivity, and continued excellence. With the hard work and efforts from the previous Chairperson and many other involved at the club Tir Conaill Harps are now in a stable position as a club and are primed to continue on the path of success and growth.

A special moment of the evening came with the presence of guest speaker Jerry O'Donovan, the Scottish Consul General of Ireland. In his speech, O'Donovan commended the club for its contribution to fostering cultural ties and community spirit, emphasizing the significance of sports in bridging gaps and building connections.


Amidst the celebration, recognition was given to the dedication and talent of both the men's and ladies' teams. Awards were presented, honouring their commitment and achievements on the field, a testament to the hard work and determination the Harps teams.

After the meals and speeches everyone came together for some music and dance with plenty of shapes being pulled on the dance floor. A great night was had by all and it will be a night that will live long in the memory.


With the new season approaching the teams have been hard at work in pre-season. As part of the preparation Tir Conaill Harps where invited to the Stirling Invitational Tournament, with teams from Glasgow and Stirling included. The boys managed to win two out of the three group games securing a place in the final where they faced city rivals Glasgow Gaels. The Harps managed to come away with the final win beating Glasgow Gaels 2-04 to 0-01.
