The start of the season has been eventful for the club. Last year’s finals concluded with Tir Conaill Harps being crowned both Intermediate and Junior Champions for 2023. In May, Tir Conaill Harps began this year’s league campaign with a match against Dunedin Connollys in the Intermediate Championship. Connollys led for most of the game, but Tir Conaill Harps staged a late comeback, equalizing and then taking a crucial one-point lead in stoppage time. However, a last-minute free from Connollys leveled the score, and the match ended in a draw: Tir Conaill Harps 2-07, Dunedin Connollys 2-07.

Next, the ladies team kicked off their league campaign against Glasgow Gaels. Under new manager Con McGinley and coach Anthony Brady, the team has shown significant improvement despite the final scoreline suggesting a heavy defeat. At halftime, only a few points separated the teams, but Glasgow Gaels pulled ahead in the second half to secure a comfortable victory. The Harps had numerous scoring opportunities, but a lack of accuracy in front of the posts prevented a closer scoreline. The team’s spirit and unity were evident, indicating promising growth as they gain more experience. The final score was Tir Conaill Harps 0-02, Glasgow Gaels 9-12.

The Men’s Junior team then faced Glasgow Gaels in the Junior league. Despite a valiant effort, the Harps struggled from the outset, eventually succumbing to a nine-point defeat. The match ended Tir Conaill Harps 3-04, Glasgow Gaels 5-07.

The junior squad quickly returned to action with an away game against Sands MacSwineys. Determined to rebound from their previous defeat, the Harps initially took the lead in a closely contested game. They led by a point at halftime, but Sands MacSwineys scored three early second-half goals, pulling ahead by five points. The Harps did rally and managed to  get a goal themselves but in the end left themselves too much to do and fell to a disappointing 1 point defeat. Full time score was Sands MacSwineys 3-07  Tir Conaill Harps 2-09.

The Intermediate team was scheduled to travel to Aberdeen to face Dalriada. Unfortunately, their bus broke down, and no alternative transportation could be arranged on short notice. As a result, the Scotland County Board awarded Dalriada the game and penalized Tir Conaill Harps with a one-point deduction for being unable to field a team. The club's offer to reschedule the match was rejected.

This decision is particularly frustrating and leaves the Intermediate team with a challenging path to qualify for the upcoming Intermediate League final.

Finally, both the Ladies and Junior Men’s league games against Glasgow Gaels have been postponed and are expected to be rescheduled for sometime in June.
