COVID-19 Update.png

Unfortunately due to the current government restrictions and impending government tiered restrictions due to come into action next week across the country, the Scottish GAA County Board have taken the decision to end the season with immediate effect.

With the ongoing uncertainty the decision was reached at the recent county board meeting. We are grateful to everyone who put in all the effort to allow us the opportunity to even attempt at competing in matches this year.

There will now be no adult matches or training for the rest of this year, but our underage section are currently still allowed to continue to train and will be doing so as normal unless advised otherwise.

We would like to take this opportunity to highlight some of the positives to come out of 2020 and to thank a number of people. A massive thank you has to go to both David Kellett and Jimmy Houghton. Both men joined our adult management team this year, after some gentle persuasion from our chairman, and everything clicked into place from there. They done a great job getting to know the players so quickly and the response from the players was great. Thanks for the hours of planning, training and adapting to all the additional Covid paperwork, we know the boys in the team are very grateful as are the management committee.

To the new players who joined this year and along with the existing core group of players, they worked extremely hard in training, putting in so much effort with all the additional guidelines in place. It’s just a pity we couldn’t get to complete the season and see what we could have achieved.
We ask everyone to stick with us as we now plan towards 2021. Everyone involved can see the strides the club has taken over the past 2 years and we want you all to be a continued part of our planned success. We look forward to getting back playing but only when it is safe to do so.

Finally a thanks to our partners at Cambuslang Rugby & Sports Club for all their assistance in the set up of the club with the new guidelines to allow us to train. We must always look at the positives in every situation, and the future is very much bright for the club.
